Show Lions win Little League based on season mark Jaycee's stayed up with Lions to end the second half of play in the Cedar National Little League, with identical records of 7 wins and one loss, ibut overall standings gave I Lions a two game edge and the league championship. Lions, coached by Matias Quintanilla, only had one loss all year, that to Jaycee's; while Jaycee's had a total of three defeats, all at the hands of Lions. In action during the final week of play, Lions squeezed past Jones Motor by a score of 9 to 7. E. J. Corry and Ro- bert Fete shared mound duties for Lions and also collected Lion's only two hits with a home run each. Baldwin was the losing pitcher for Jones Motor. Kevin Averett and the Jaycee's Jay-cee's crew walked away from Arctic Circle 13 to 0. Averett was the winning pitcher allowing al-lowing not one hit and collecting col-lecting 13 strikeouts. He also had a good day at bat, getting four hits with four trips to the plate, including three home runs. Burns and Orton shared the pitching task for Arctic Circle. The. final game of the season, sea-son, between Lions and Elks was rained out Friday night, and Elks decided to take the loss by forfeit to end the season. sea-son.
