Show Mrs. John Roothoff succumbs here, buried in Salt Lake Marna V. Roothoff, 73, died at her home in Parowan Tuesday, Tues-day, April 4, of natural causes caus-es after an extended illness. Following a viewing at. the Southern Utah Mortuary on Thursday evening she was taken to Salt Lage City for funeral services and burial. The services were held Friday Fri-day at 1 p. m. in the Wells Ward LDS Chapel, and burial took place in the Sunset Lawn Memorial Park in that City. The deceased, Maria Engel-ma Engel-ma Veenendaal Roothoff was born Aug. 1, 1898 in Rotterdam Rotter-dam Holland to Dirk J. and Dirkze M. Lapperre Veenen-dall. Veenen-dall. Married to John J. Roothoff Root-hoff Dec. 14, 1921, Salt Lake LDS Temple. They had been residents of Parowan for the past several years. She was an active member of the LDS Church and had served an LDS Mission in the Netherlands, and also served as a Seminary superintendent superintend-ent Survivors, in addition to her husband were the following sons and daughters: Dirk John Salt Lake City; John James, San Diego, Calif.; Mrs. Hal L. (Doraine Maria) Orton, Parowan; Par-owan; 12 grandchildren; brothers bro-thers and sister: Dirk J., Bert, and Mrs. Bertha Edwin Ford, all of Modesto, Calif. |
