Show V Eulalia B. Jones SUSCannounces retirement of Eulalia B Jones Mrs. Eulalia B. Jones, catalog cata-log librarian at Southern Utah State College, will retire re-tire June 30, following a 37-year 37-year career in library work, it was announced by Dr. Royden C. Braithwaite, SUSC president. presi-dent. Mrs. Jones began her library li-brary experience at Brigham Young College in Logan, in 1924 as assistant librarian. She was librarian at Box Elder High School from 1926 to 1928, leaving to join the University Of Utah library staff. At the U of U, she served first as the reserve room attendant and the following year was made reserve room librarian. She next became circulation librarian li-brarian and ended her service at the school in 1938 as a member of the cataloging staff. In 1939 Mrs. Jones went to Ricks College as head librarian. librar-ian. The next year sihe moved with her family to Texas where they resided until 1943. ' In 1949 Mrs. Jones became 1 cataloger at SUSC (then Branch Bran-ch Agricultural College), and 1 in 1930 she was appointed to ' the position of head librarian. She served in that capacity for nine years. Since 1959 Mrs. Jones has headed the cataloging catalog-ing department-in the SUSC Library. She was born in Logan and attended BYU College where she received a five-year certificate cert-ificate to teach in the elementary elemen-tary grades. She later received a Bachlor of Arts degree In English from the U of U, graduating grad-uating with honors. She has since taken graduate study at the U. of U. Mrs. Jones was a member of the Utah State Library Board from 1957 to 1967 and is affiliated affil-iated with the Utah Library Association and the American Library Association. She was married to the late Daniel M. Jone, in 1937 anl ' they became the parents of; Dr. M. Robert Jones, associate ' professor of phyics and math-1 ematics at SUSC, and Mrs. Linda Anderson, presently re-' siding with hr family in "New Zealand where her husbard is ' teaching on a Fullbright; Grant j |
