Show Test of skills face youth at road rally A test or driving skills and timing will be put to the tesj: Saturday by Explorers and Venturers of ithe Cedar Breaks District, Boy Scouts of America Amer-ica at a Road Rally afecording to Gary Jones, chairman of the event. A Road Rally school to register re-gister and. inform participants will be held this evening at the Cedar Stake Center at 7 p.m., Jones indicated, and those planning to participate should attend. Special trophies will be awarded and a series of merchandise mer-chandise prizes will be presented pre-sented to winners at an award luncheon to be held at the Cedar West Stake House. Gleaners of the Cedar and Cedar West Stake have been invited to participate in the event. Road Rally teams can be composed of a minimum of two and a maximum of four participants. The competition is not one of speed, but the ability to follow directions and to maintain main-tain an average speed through all types of driving conditions. condi-tions. Starting point will be the Cedar High School parking lot and a course of over 55 miles has been laid out for each team. The teams will fol-low fol-low the course and .attempt to maintain a pre established average speed. Various check points will be set up along the way. At tonights Rally School all participants will be given a sfSrTiiig time and number based bas-ed on the number of entries, time for the awards luncheon 'will also be announced, Jones stated. |
