Show Contribution enhance offerings at library of family history available to the public. A gift of inestimable value has been presented to the l;brary for at least the last twenty years, namely "a gift subscription of the Iron County Coun-ty Record." The many people who have had occasion to research re-search for Information in back copies of the Record can attest at-test to the value of this gift. The Librarian has researched the Record file for information requested by a college professor profes-sor in California, a family in England, students in many States in the United States and England as well as helping help-ing local groups and Individual Individ-ual research. ' By Elene Jenson , Cedar City librarian The Cedar City Public Library Li-brary is indebted to York and Evelyn Jones for the gift of the book "Lehi Willard Jones, 18S4-1947." This book is well written and carefully documented, it is the history of the Jones family and also traces the history of Iron County since the very first colonizers came here. Any person who is intrigued in-trigued by history will find it hard to lay the volume down- York and Evelyn are to be congratulated for compiling compil-ing and preserving this family fam-ily history. The history of community development truly lies in the files of 'The Iron County Record." Re-cord." Public spirited citizens and groups in our community have consistently made valuable contributions to their Public Library over the years, increasing in-creasing the library's potential potent-ial for service. Dr. Paul Lunt and his wife, Naomi, and Kent and Laurel Hulet recently presented two, valuable volumes to the Cedar Ce-dar City Library. One book U ' Life History of Henry Lunt together with a portion of his diary", this book was edited by Dr. and Mrs. Lunt and Mr. and Mrs. Hulet. The second volume is 'The Life of Henry Lunt" com-piled com-piled Iby a grandson, the late Vernon Lunt and his wife Rachel Petty Lunt. The Lunt family is a prominent prom-inent First Family in Iron County and the history of this family is in a sense a history of Iron County. Dr. & Mrs. Lunt and Mr. and Mrs. -' Hulet have made a valuable contribution to the community by making the two volumes |
