Show ' i! v- SENIOR RAMMETTES. These seven senior students at Parowan High, have led the cheering and participated parti-cipated in halftime shows during basketball games during past three years. They participated in their last performance in the local gyh Saturday night. Rams Lose Crucial Game at Milford; Win Final Home Contest From Beaver ' Whether the Parowan basketball bas-ketball team went to Milford last Friday night with a touch of overconfidence, or whether Milford and Art Stewart has put a jinx on it, the Ram j crew turned in it's worst performance per-formance of the year and dropped the game, 62-49. Statistics Sta-tistics for the game show they were at their lowest point in scoring ability, although their defense remained near par. The Rams were in the game during the first half which , ended 32 to 29 for the Tigers, j but faded in the third period to give the home team a lead which they couldn't overcome. Parowan shot a weak 33 from the field in the first half and then dropped to 11 in the second half for a whole game performance of about 21. You can't shoot this way against Milford at home and win. Parowan shot 67 times and hit 14; Milford shot about the same number of times and hit 25. For example Glenn Robinson shot 17 times, hit 2; Phil Burt went 0 for 10 tries, two or three of them on steals and drive ins which he seldom misses.. And Coach Elliot Jordan Jor-dan adds that Parowan had 33 turnovers, not all to Milford but just dropped or lost the ball. That's how far off they were. The box score gives the rest of the story. You can read the box score of the Parowan-Beaver game on Friday night and see a different dif-ferent story, with the Rams winning 81 to 56, and it could have been better than that for the home team, but Coach Jordan Jor-dan gave his reserves an opportunity op-portunity to play, and five of them broke into the scoring column. The small but fast Beaver team played the Rams right down, to the wire in the first1 quarter, trading basket for basket until near the end of the period when the home team went out on lead. And 1 most of the Beaver baskets were from outside where they hit on their first six tries Although outsized and with less experience the Beaver sauad eave everything they had. "-;T J; I Coach Jordan jerked "his ! starting five late in the third J period and let the reserves finish it and start the fourth J period. The starters were put back in for a few minutes and ' then the reserves finished the game. , At this point we want to ? put in a word of commenda- tion to the Beaver fans. The j j Beaver supporters almost fill-1 ) ed the section in the gym al- J lotted to the opposing team, and they stayed to the end to ) support a fine bunch of kids s who never quit in spite of the fact they haven't won a game in league play. , Box score, Parowan-Milford: ' G.
