Woolf, Battalion Commander, Command-er, with members of the sergeant's ser-geant's family as special guests. I The citation read in part: "For distinguishing himself by outstanuing meritorious ervdee in connection with miliary mil-iary operations against a nostile force ... He consis- lemly manifested exemplary I professionalism and initiative ,' in obtaining outstanding results. re-sults. His rapid assessment and solution of numerous problems pro-blems inherent in a counter-msurgency counter-msurgency environment greatly great-ly enhanced the allied effectiveness ef-fectiveness against a determined deter-mined and aggressive enemy. ! . . . Sgt. Phillips was assigned advisor to the national guard unit in November of last year. He has 27 years of service with the Army and is a native of Jefferson City, Mo. 1 He has served several tours of duty in Europe, including i the European theater of operation oper-ation during World War II and also served in the capacity capa-city of first sergeant of both Battery and Service Battery of - R'talion of the 13th |
