Show Cedar City to Be 1 En'ered "n National Contest "We plan to enter Cedar City in a contest, the most clean and beautiful city in the United States contest." So spoke Forrest Hunter, new ; chairman of the Cedar City Beautification Committee, at its meeting Saturday night. He went on to state that, at the present time, Cedar is far j from being clean and beauti- j ful. In some areas, it is disgraceful, dis-graceful, so there is much I work to be done. I According to Mr. Hunter, it ' is an economic necessity that we make our city an enticing community. Now that we are by-passed by the new freeway, already our motels, eating establishments, es-tablishments, and 5-ervic.e stations sta-tions are feeling the loss of business, but, "It does not need to happen to us." We are in an ideal location geographically and have the met beautiful setting one could ask for. All we need to do, according to Mr. Hunter, is to band together, every group and individual, roll up our sleeves, and get to work. I We must transform our city into one which will make people peo-ple wait to turn off the frre-wav frre-wav and spend some time in l Cedar City. It may mean our j economic survival. Some tentative plans were made by the committee at the Saturdav meeting and manv suggestions were g'ven. Mr. Hunter reported that, with the help of his committee, he intends to involve the entire community and will appreciate appre-ciate the suggestions of every- j one. |
