Show Cedar Squ&re Dance Club Plans Bier Event March 2 Bruce Johnson, one of the five top square dance callers in the nation, will be in Cedar City Thursday, March 2, to call for the Hoy Cedars Square Dance Club. Dancing will begin be-gin at 8:00 p. m. at the East Elementary and will continue until 11:00 p. m. An after dance luncheon will be served. Mr. Johnson is a college graduate who has been a teacher by profession until he began square dance calling on a full-time basis. lie is well established in his own community, com-munity, Santa Barbara, Calif., as a square dance teacher and caller and is a top recording artist. One of his latest records is "Oh Lonesome Me" which he did with the Frank Messina Mes-sina Band. The Dixie is one of the routines included in that rendition. "Starry Eyes" is another of Bruce's hits. It has a Slide Through square dance routine. Since Mr. Johnson called in Iron County throe years ago during the Fair activities, the Hoy Cedars have been trying to get him to return. Everyone who met him then and danced to his rails is anticipating another an-other evening of gaitoy with him and his wife Shirley who will accompany him on the trip here. Anyone w-ho dances in the "Square Fashion" is invited to the dance featuring this popular pop-ular caller. |
