Show Living In The Escalante Valley Calif.- for the past week at tending the National College Rodeo, where she represented the Utah State University. Visitors at the John Smith home recently were Mrs. Smith's brother, Ellis Alexander Alex-ander of Evanston, Wyo. and a nephew, Ronald Alexander of Sumas, Washington. Their daughter, Mrs. Robb Moone and her sons, John, and Mike of Long Beach, Calif, and a friend of John's, Jim Julian of Las Alomitas, Calif., spent a week with the Smiths. Michael remained to spend the summer with his grandparents. the 4th Celebration. Those helping Mrs. Hunt were Marie and Horace Phelps, Marion Woolsey, Phyllis Wood and Gaylene Hunt. Carl Anderson was in charge of the fire works. Juanita Butler was hostess at her home for the meeting of the Women's Club with Mir-ram Mir-ram McGarry as co-hostess. Door prize for the evening was won by Barbara Gardner. Yal- Mrs. Georgia Moyle PIANO STUDENTS RECITAL Mrs. Miriam McGarry has presented her piano students in recital. Participating were the following students: Pre-paratory Pre-paratory Grade I: Kim Holt, Jackie Walters, Laurie Laub. Preparatory Group II: Phililp Gordon, Vicky Gentry, Laura Gentry. Grade I: Teressa Gardner, Mike Gardner, Lau-ana Lau-ana Staheli, Mary Love, Lore Moyle, Lynette Laub,. Grade II: Nancy Gardner, Shirlene Reber, JoAnn Clark. Grade III: Yvonne Staheli, Janet Laub, Rosalind Clark. Grade IV: Marita Munt. Special numbers included, Lore, Moyle, "Having Fun" (her own composition). Lyn-ette Lyn-ette Laub,' Janet Laub, "duet, "Campus Capers." Rosalind Clark, "March of the Toys". Marita Hunt, "Roadside Fire." HONS chazee was enjoyed followed by delicious refreshments. HERE AND THERE Visiting over the Fourth of July weekend with the Bryner Wood family were Mr. and Mrs. Louis Gillette and family of Salt Lake. Mrs. Glllete is a sister of Mrs. Wood. Their son, Dell Gillette is spending the summer with the Woods. Dianne Wood also spent the weekend with her folks. Kelly Wood went to Camp Irwin, California, to visit with his brother Rex Wood and his Lion, jonn m. Mcuarry ana Mirram A. McGarry traveled to Dallas, Texas the latter part of June, where they joined over 35,000 Lions from all over ov-er the world in attending the 51st Annual International Con-vention Con-vention of Lions International. Mr. McGarry and the other three District Governors from Utah participated with the 7,000 delegates in major items of importance in the affairs and operations of the world's largest service organization. Mr. McGarry retired at this time as District President of 28H. The McGarrys visited with friends in Phoenix enroute to Dallas. WOMENS CLUB The Escalante Valley Wo-mens Wo-mens Club sponsored fire works again this year at the Community Center on the evening ev-ening of July 4th. Hamburgers pie and ice cream were sold throughout the evening. Mrs. Edith Hunt was chairman for - t wife. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ray V. Hunt were their son Stanley and family of Magna, Utah. Also Ray's sister, Jennie Hunt and Blanch Parent of Parma, Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Ray V. Hunt enjoyed having their family back home at the Ranch in the Escalante Valley for a reunion. re-union. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Hunt and nine children of Magna, Utah; Mr. and Mrs. David Hunt and eight of eleven children of Quincy, Washington. Washing-ton. Also Mr. and Mrs. Richard Rich-ard Hunt and three children of Quincy. Mr. and Mrs. Rus-sel Rus-sel Hunt and seven children of Mesa, Arizona; Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Hunt and three of four children of Cedar City; Mrs. Bruce Abbise (Elza) and four children of Las Vegas; Mrs. Sidney Atkin (Mary Ann) and six children of St. George; Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Proctor (Lucille) and baby of Pan-guitch; Pan-guitch; Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Hunt and four children of Cedar Ce-dar City; Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Mar-vin Bracken (Evelyn) of the Valley, and Dale and Allen Hunt.
