Show Iron County School District Has Three Construction Programs Going, Fight Deadlines Three of the Iron County Schools are in the prpeess of construction or repairs during the summer months, but all are expected to be ready lor occupancy this fall, members of the Iron County School Board were told at their regular re-gular meeting Monday. A report of construction of the Parowan High School was given and it was indicated that the target date for the opening of school is still expected ex-pected to be met. Construction at the North Elementary in Cedar City is underway and expected to be completed enclosing the patio area between the two classroom class-room wings to be used for special training and educa tion area. Bids were opened at the meeting for carpeting 10. the facility. Five bids were received on the carpeting with the apparent low bidder being Educated Supplies of Salt Lake City With a bid of $J,38o.d The bid was awarded pending a qualification of the specif, cations of the b!d. In other action of the meeting meet-ing bids were also awarded for the supplying of coal ana milk for the school year. Only one bid was submitted for the supplying of coal. Superintendent loe Reidhead pointed out that the savings on the one-tenth of one percent would amount to a savings of approximately plOOO to the district during the -ourse of the year. |
