Show Mrs. Ella Holyoak Resigns Post On Welfare Board At the July meeting of the Iron County Welfare Board, the resignation of Mrs. Ella Holyoak was accepted. Mrs. Holyoak has served as a member mem-ber of the board almost since the inception of the welfare program and was a member of the early relief society com-mittee. com-mittee. Sentiments of the group were expressed by Mrs. Mc-Donough, Mc-Donough, stating it was with regret that the resignation be considered, that she had been a wonderful board member and conscientious in attending attend-ing meetings. Her sunny disposition dis-position and interest in giving people opportunities and relieving re-lieving stress have made her a real asset on the board. She has given many years of service ser-vice to the public. Mrs. Holyoak was born and raised in Parowan. In 1914, she married Heber Holyoak, Holy-oak, and they lived for a short' period of time in Parowan arrd; Milford and then moved to' Cedar City. They are the parents of four children, and have eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. They have served on the Old Folks Committee for over 20 years. Mrs. Holyoak has served serv-ed two terms as president of the Relief Society and held positions in most of the organizations or-ganizations in the LDS Church. She worked for a number of years as a nurse's aid at the local hospital. She also served for some time as chairman of the Red Cross Chapter, and during her term the chapter in Parowan was organized. |
