Show Stake Reliei Society Visiting Teachers Meet in Convention A very Interesting and successful suc-cessful visiting teachers convention con-vention was held Wednesday of last week at the Third Ward cultural hall, with over 100 officers and teachers of the organization in the Parowan ' Stake in attendance. President Alice C. Mitchell was in charge and made the welcoming remarks in which she expressed appreciation for the effort put forth by the visiting vis-iting teachers of the six wards in the Parowan Stake. Joseph E. Ward, former advisor, ad-visor, and Karl O. Mitchell, present advisor to the Relief Society from the high council, spoke to the ladies, and Bro. Ward who is retiring from the high council was presented with a small token of appreciation appre-ciation by Mrs. Mitchell. Each lady in the stake who has served for 30 years or more as a visiting teacher, was presented with a potted plant by Berta Dalton and Ruby Ru-by Orton, stake counselors. Mrs. Huiaah Feterson of the Summit Ward had the highest high-est number of years with 57 and Mrs. Alice Holyoak, who is 90 years old and still doing her visiting teaching, had 37. years. A film depicting the joy and blessings that come from visiting vis-iting teaching was shown and enjoyed by all present. Two songs were sung by a group of Singing Mothers, after which refreshments were served serv-ed by the stake board. |
