Show Big Game Control Board Sets Deer Hunting Dates Utah's Board of Big Game Control, In setting ' the 1967 deer hunts, established a general gen-eral season of October 21-31 for animals of either sex along with granting extensions exten-sions on the season for six 'hunting units, short five-day hunts on six other areas, and buck-only, eleven-day hunts on Units 14, 53 and 61E. There will be 4,750 control permits available this year where hunting pressure is needed to balance deer herds with the available forage. Some of these control permits will be on five-day notice post season hunts which are designed de-signed to control problems in specific areas as deer move into these areas, and hunters holding this type of permit will be given at least five days notice prior to the hunt opening. There will not be any hunts opening prior to October 21 for the regular license holders and hunters will have tc check the proclamation carefully. Archery permits are again considered special permits and archers may not purchase another deer permit in addition to tht archery tag.
