Show Fire Department Asks Help From Citizens An appeal to the citizens of Cedar City has been made by the Cedar City Voluntary Fire Department. In a letter to the Record, the department has asked for cooperation co-operation in keeping the fire departments telephone lines open at the time of a fire call for emergency and necessary communications purposes. "When a fire alarm comes in, we are getting a large a-mount a-mount of calls from the public, pub-lic, on our private line," the letter indicated. "This is hampering ham-pering us greatly as one of I our members is.kept.busyjust answering the calls, also some of our firemen try to call in i and cannot," it pointed out. Officers of the department have suggested that interested citizens listen to Radio Station Sta-tion KSUB, who will be notified noti-fied as to the nature of the fire alarm as soon as possible. I The station has agreed to give out this information as soon as possible. With this cooperation of the radio station and the cooperation coopera-tion of the citizens in refraining refrain-ing from calling the fire house, it is hoped by the department, de-partment, that they will be able to work more efficiently in response to the many fire calls that have recently been received. |
