Show Delton Bettridge Recognized for Excellent Teaching W."l,"'l'M. M'"'N ll", i. i mill! ''''I''""'"'''""" 'f 1 j l ..... f i mm DELTON BETTRIDGE Delton Bettridge, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bettridge of Cedar City was recently named nam-ed as one of two "Teachers of the Month," in the Salt Lakej City schools. Recognition was given by the Salt Lake Kiwanis Club who has set up the program "to give some measure of recognition rec-ognition to a few of the fine teachers now serving in the Salt Lake City public schools," according to Arty W. Clark, of the group's vocational guidance guid-ance committee. Bettridge directs the Junior High Music at Nothwest and also teaches in several elementary elem-entary schools. According to his principal, A. Merrill Linford, Bettridge "has Inspired thousands of students to study an instrument instru-ment who would not have otherwise done so." He has also been given the title by his principal as "The Music Man of Rose Park," an area of the city in which he resides. Bettridge is a former student stu-dent at College of Southern Utah, received his bachelors and recently his master's degree de-gree from the University of Utah. He has also been named as chairman of the Junior High Division of the All-City Music Festival to be staged this spring in the Salt Lake LDS Tabernacle and will conduct the orchestra division of that event. Bettridge is married to the former Jean Bauer, also of Cedar City and they have five children. |
