Show I Intensive German Proves Effective The workshop in Elementary Elemen-tary German which will be offered of-fered at the College of South- em Utah the coming summer offers an interesting change from the normal approach to language learning and is proving interesting. This course begins at 7 in the morning and continues un- pursuing their studies in the normal manner during the entire en-tire academic year, j The course was originally designed in the hope that many ma-ny graduates who will be entering en-tering areas of study where a language is required would recognize the desirability of getting one full year of lan;-euaee lan;-euaee trainine (with one quarter college credit) before beginning college in the fall and thus avoid the problem of trying to get such a background back-ground while involved in their major field of concentration. Many adults have availed themselves of the opportunity opportuni-ty provided to learn a language lang-uage prior to European travel. Teachers have found this ai til 12 noon, five hours a day five days a week, and carries 15 hours of college credit. Because Be-cause the student is totally immersed in learning the language, lan-guage, conflicting interests are minimal. One doesn't have time to forget, and results over the past two years indicate that students participating in this 8-week language work-! work-! shop actually learn as much I or more German than those eiieuiive way 01 meeting me language requirement in preparation prep-aration for advanced degrees, and the idea of total immer1-sion immer1-sion in the study of German has appealed to people froni various parts of our state as well as from other parts of the country. The course is intended for people with no previous Gerv man experience as well as a review for those who may have had some courses in German in years past. The 8-week 8-week session is a part of the regular summer school prop gram at the College of Southern South-ern Utah. It begins June 10 and continues through both summer sessions until Aug.
