Show High School Youth Charged On Vandalism Count A Cedar City High School youth has been charged with malicious mischief in connection con-nection with vandalism and destruction of property at the High School Sunday afternoon. The youth is being held in I the Iron County Detension Center and is scheduled to go before the juvenile court. Damage estimated at from $2000 to $3000 resulted when the youth apparently broke into in-to the equipment room of the high school and proceeded to break up furniture, equipment and books. Electric typewriters were broken, two overhead projectors, lenses were taken from the machines and broken, brok-en, books were torn from shelves and thrown into the middle of the room and desks and other equipment were turned over and thrown to the floor. Harold Shirley, an instructor instruct-or at the school who stopped by to pick up supplies during the afternoon discovered the youth. It was reported to l,aw enforcement officials and the youth was later picked up in Page, Ariz., and returned to Cedar City to face charges. |
