Show Mike Williams j Struck By Car on 1-15 Mike Williams, 25, of Kan-arraville Kan-arraville remained in serious condition at the Valley View 1 Medical Center Wednesday from injuries sustained when he was struck by a car on Interstate In-terstate Highway 15 Monday afternoon. Williams, a flagman for W. W. Clyde Construction Company Com-pany was hit by a car driven by 20-year-old Jerry Clarence I Wood of Salt Lake City at approximately ap-proximately 3:39 p. m. Monday while attempting to control traffic around construction work at the Interstate and Center Street overpass being i constructed by the Clyde firm. Williams suffered multiple injuries, but was taken off the critical list Wednesday after showing slight improvement. Williams was attempting to slow north bound traffic around the construction area. A passenger car and a highway high-way department truck had been stopped in the right lane and were just moving on through the construction area when the vehicle driven by Wood attempted to pass them in the left lane. Williams was caught between be-tween the cars, struck by the Wood vehicle and thrown into the car in the right lane, then to the pavement. Investigating Investigat-ing officer Roydcn Williams of th2 Iron County Sheriff's office of-fice indicated that skid marks sot the speed of the Wood vehicle ve-hicle at approximately 60 miles per hour. Charges were filed against Wood, including reckless driving, driv-ing, driving under revocation, and driving with an expired Idaho permit. Other charges are pending, based on the condition con-dition of Williams. Wood appeared before Justice Jus-tice of the Peace Haldow E. Christensen and is being held in the Cedar City jail on $1000 IbaiL I |
