Ans.: There is one State Appeal Ap-peal Board established in each Federal Judicial District within with-in a State. Each State Appeal Board normally has five members, mem-bers, appointed by the President Presi-dent upon recommendation of the Governor. Members shall be citizens of the United States who are not members of the armed forces or any reserve component. They must be residents res-idents of the area in which their board is appointed and they must be at least 30 years of age. The Appeal Board should be a composite Board and as such include a physician, physi-cian, a lawyer, and representatives represent-atives from labor, industry and, if applicable, from agriculture. agri-culture. Ans.: A pamphlet entitled "Taking Appeals from Selective Select-ive Service Classifications" is available at any Selective Service Ser-vice Local Board Office. Q.: I am over 26. Recently I was declared a delinquent and ordered to report for induction. in-duction. If the induction ages are I8V2 to 26, how can I be inducted? Ans.: Registrants deferred on or after June 19, 1951 are liable for training and service until 1 age 35. Additionally, any person per-son who has failed or refused to report for induction remains re-mains liable for induction and when available, shall be immediately im-mediately inducted, regardless of age. 1 Q.: If a person liable for , registration with the Selective Service System failed to reg-ister reg-ister within five days after his 18th birthday, what should he do? Ans.: He should go to the nearest Local Board of the Selective Service System without with-out delay and register. He should follow this as soon as possible with a letter to his Local Board of jurisdiction explaining ex-plaining the delay. |
