Show Cedar City Councilmen Given Assignments Following Swearing In It i 'if f I W! Departmental assignments of the City Council was proposed and approved, at the first meeting of the Council held for 1968, Thursday, Jan. 4. I Mayor Loren Whetten re-! re-! commended appointments for the councilmen for the year and they were approved and adopted by the members. Appointments were made as follows: Louis Webster: Water, Sewer and Flood Control. He will also serve as a representative of the city on the Water Board. Richard Stucki: AU phases of recreation including ball parks, swimming pool, golf course including personnel, real estate and equipment, plus all the real estate not otherwise assigned. He will serve on the Beautification Committee and the City Recreation Re-creation Committee. Kerry Jones: Public Safety including police, fire, sanitation, sanita-tion, public health, and the responsibilities of the City and County Building. His com: mittee assignments will include in-clude the Power Board and the City Safety Committee. Haze Hunter: Streets and sidewalks, garbage, city engineering en-gineering dept., and building inspection. He will continue an assignment with the Planning Plan-ning Commission. Robert C. Hansen: Airports and parks and cemetery with assignment to the Airport Committee. Three of the councilmen elected for four year terms in November were sworn into ASSUME OFFICE. In formal action of the council, coun-cil, they accepted a check in the amount of $500 from the . Iron County Insurance Agents Association to be used on the golf course, and also appointed appoint-ed a new dog catcher. Named was Gayle Webb of Cedar City to succeed Stan Davis, who has been appointed Cedar Ce-dar City Chief of Police. |
