WARD PULVERS Wedding Dinner Fetes Ward Pulvers On Occasion of Fiftieth Anniversary Rev. and Mrs. Norman Boss hosted a wedding dinner August t 9th in honor of the 50th wedding' anniversary of Ward and Virgie Pulver, parents of Mrs. Norman Boss. The table was decorated with gold flowers, candles and place cards each featuring a scripture on marriage. Dishes that have been in the family for 70 years and were used at the wedding dinner of Ward and Virgie Pulver 50 years ago were used. Guests present at the dinner were Mr. and Mrs. Ward Pulver, Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Stratton and children Robin, Julie and Marcus; Mr. and Mrs. Thelmer Stratton and children, Bert, Norma Nor-ma and Eddie; Mr. and Mrs. James Pulver and children, Mie-ko, Mie-ko, David and Denise of Yakima, Washington; Mr. and Mrs. Udell Roberts and daughter Kimberly of Denver, Colo., and the hosts, Norman and Junya Boss. A wedding cake in the shape of two bells and decorated in white and gold, featured two blue birds in commemoration of blue bird pins which were pinned on the bridal couple 50 years ago by Mr. Pulver's mother for good luck. Following the dinner a reception recep-tion was held and a musical program pro-gram was presented by Mr. and Mrs. Pulver's children and grandchildren. grand-children. A unique feature of the program was the chiming of the old family clock. This same clock was sU'inking the hour of 12 noon when Virgie Marie Epley and Ward Miles Pulver were united in marriage on September 7 1916 at the William Epley home in Sedgwick, Sedg-wick, Colorado. As the last chime died away, Mrs. Boss played the wedding march on the old organ, followed by "I Love You Truly" sung by Bob Stratton. Special songs included "Together", sung by Rev. and Mrs. Boss; "How Sweet Is His Love" by Jackie Roberts; Ro-berts; "Whispering of Jesus," by James and Laurabelle Pulver, and "Some Golden Daybreak", by James and Laurabelle Pulver, Jacki Roberts and Mike Boss. A piano solo "When They Ring The Golden Bells" was played by Norma June Stratton. Prayer and a short message was given by Rev. Norman Boss. Gifts and a box of cards from friends and relatives were pre- sented. to the honored couple at the close of the program. Small cakes in the shape of weddi.ng bells and punch were served those present. Guests bidden bid-den to the reception in addition to the members of the famly were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Baldwin, Mr. and Mrs. Mel Cowley, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Freeman, Mr. and Mrs. Doug Knell, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Lee, Mr. and Mrs. Bud Owen, Mr. and Mrs. David Stewart, Mr. and Mrs. Thelmer Stratton, Mrs. Anna Seaman and Will Clark of Cedar City; Johnny and Biriam McGar-ry, McGar-ry, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Butler, and Rev. and Mrs. Carl Parrish of Beryl, and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Keeswood and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Smith of Toquerville, Utah. |
