Show Ronald W. Thompson To be Honored At . Farewell Testimonial p 11 ' "'iH I M t ' '' mam mini 11 rn 1 ... &J..J. - RONALD W. THOMPSON Ronald Willard Thompson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Willard B. Thompson, has been called by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to serve a mission In Argentina. A farewell testimonial will be held in his honor Sunday, Aug. 21 at 6 p. m. in the Cedar Ninth Ward chapel. Friends and relatives rela-tives are cordially invited to attend. at-tend. Speakers at the testimonial will be Merrill B. Kunz and Boyd Beagley with remarks by Bishop Max J. Payne and the missionary's mission-ary's parents. A response by Thompson will also be given. Special musical numbers will include in-clude a vocal solo by Ralph Ha-fen, Ha-fen, and a Ladies' double trio, consisting of Dorothy Rice, Susan Sus-an Murphy, Maureen Faber, Elna Rae Snow, Joan Grimshaw and Aleene Schwendiman will give a number. Invocation will be by Lee Hunter Hun-ter and the benediction by Mike Thompson. Thompson graduated from Cedar Ce-dar High School in 1964 where he was active in football and wrestling. He was a member of the Lettermen's Club and was active in both band and chorus. He completed three years of seminary' while at Cedar High. The missionary has been attending at-tending College of Southern Utah for the past two years where he continued has activity is sports, lettering in football for two years. He was also active in 4-H and attained the rank of Life in the scouting program. Thompson will enter the mission mis-sion home in in Salt Lake City Monday for a week's concentrated concentrat-ed study after which he will enter en-ter a special language course at r.righam Young University prior to leaving for the mission field. |
