Show Temporary Preserve Declared During Antelope Hunt Larry Eyre, conservation officer offi-cer with the Utah Fish and Game Department, reminded hunters that during the upcoming antelope ante-lope season the Southwest Desert and Cedar City units will become be-come temporary game preserves. This is also true during the elk, moose and buffalo seasons in Utah. "All elk, antelope, moose and buffalo areas are established as temporary game preserves during dur-ing the open season on these animals. The carrying of firearms fire-arms on such preserves is prohibited pro-hibited except for possessors of a valid 1966 permit for the above mentioned game. This does not apply to upland bird hunters during a prescribed game bird season, hunting with a legal shotgun only." That means, Eyre pointed out, that on Aug. 20, 21 and 22 and 27, 28 and 29, the Cedar City and Southwest Desert areas will be affected by this law in the hunting hunt-ing proclamation. The two units include that area bounded by U. S. Highway 91 on the east, Utah Highway 56 on the south, Utah Highway 126 and U. S.. Highway 50-6 on the north, and the Utah-Nevada line on the west. |
