Show CEDAR CITY SOCIAL SWING Several Christmas parties were on the social calendar for dif-! dif-! ferent clubs this past week end. ' One group met for a dinner party : ! at Sullivan's Cafe and invited their husbands and three couples to join them for the affair. Spec-1 Spec-1 1 ial guests were Mr. and Mrs. ' I Ashley Paddock, Mr. and Mrs. ! i Randy Rosenberg, and Mr. and ' Mrs. Brent Woolsey who met with Mr. and Mrs. Roger Murie, Mr. , and Mrs. Ken McKnight, Mr. and I Mrs. Donald Davis, Mr. and Mrs. 1 Paul Douglas, Mr. and Mrs. Nate ', Petty and Mr. and Mrs. Burnis , Reber. Another group was en-. en-. tertained at the home of Diana Henrie where refreshments were served and gifts .exchanged among Tarn Higbee, Sherri Har-; Har-; rison, Toni Higbee, Rowena Ash-'.down, Ash-'.down, Linda Smith, Linda Hol-lerman, Hol-lerman, Alice Holyoak and Diana Henrie. Saturday night at the ' I home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ber-; Ber-; rett a surprise birthday party ' and holiday social was held. Mr. Kent Walton was the honored guest. Five couples beside the Waltons were in attendance. Earlier in December Mr. and Mrs. Victor Richardson entertained for 1 twehv? couples prior to their de- parture for vacations with relatives rela-tives at home. The Richardson's dolls. Centerpieces were designed design-ed of juniper and sage branches 1 with red balls and ribbons. Act-' Act-' ing as mistress of ceremony for j the event was Afton Hartman j who introduced those who par-! par-! ticipated on the program. Santa j Claus arrived to distribute gifts, ! door prizes were presented to i Joy Crawford, Vanda Dennett ; and Anne Edwards, and Christmas Christ-mas carols were sung as part of I the entertainment during the evening. H. H. CLUB Twelve members of the H. H. Club were entertained Thursday, i December 15, at the home of Jean Christensen amid an atmosphere at-mosphere of Christmas created by festive decorations. Shirley Marchant, who was invited as lesson guest, presented a Christ-! Christ-! mas story. A luncheon was ser-, ser-, ved after which each guest donated a gift of money to be given to the College of Southern Utah library. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hansen were hosts at a Christmas social ! held Sunday night at their home I for members of their Sunday I night club. "The Birth of Christ" was depicted through words and music of the club members. Some of the musical highlights were I I rendered by Mrs. June Thorley who played the violin and by ! the quartette singing of Dr. Rod- j ney Brown, Mrs. Frank Petty, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hanson. I Spending Christmas away from home will be Mr. and Mrs. Sam J ! Gentry who will visit their son- i ' in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Roland Palm-?r in Bountiful, Utah, and Mr. and Mrs. Neil Gentry Gen-try who will be guests of Mrs. Gentry's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ward Dorrity of Salt Lake City Also planning to meet at the Dorrity residence are former Cedar Ce-dar residents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Nelson Webster. i guests make their winter homes in Cedar City while attending College of Southern Utah. A farewell party was held early in December for Mrs. Fred (Ada Marie) Hooper who will be lenving with her husband and children for a new home in the Mid-west. Hostess at the going-away going-away event was Susan Bonzo and guests included Vanda Dennett, Den-nett, Linda Ilollerman, Margene Reber, Jerri Newby, Pat Murie,; Barbara McKnight, Virginia 1 Douglas, Linda Reber, and Rose Steele. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Coon and family will have a Merry Christmas Christ-mas in Iowa with both Mrs. Coon's parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. D. Goodrich and Mr. Coon's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Art Coon. The Cedar City family departed early Monday and will return here on January 1. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bollan and children will travel to Arizona Ari-zona where they will spend Christmas with Mrs. Bollan's folks who have recently retired after having made their home in Colorado.- LADIES OF ELKS The Christmas pa'ty for members mem-bers of the Ladie-? of Elks organization organ-ization was held Thursday, Dec. 1". with Dorothy Urie as chairman. chair-man. Don Nelspn catered a dinner for the group, who enjoyed enjoy-ed a festive atmosphere created by the seasonal decorations planned to a theme of "Lest We Forget Our First Doll."
