Show I CSU Drama Students to Feature Shakespeare One of the finest presentations in the literary and dramatic media me-dia to be reproduced at College of Southern Utah is underway under un-der the auspices of the drama department. Shakespeare Is to be featured on Feb 1 and 2 when student actors bring to the stage choice scenes from six of the famous English author's plays. Included will be "Othello". "A Midsummer Night's Dream", "King Henry IV", "Julius Caesar". Caes-ar". "Macbeth", and "Romeo and Juliet". With a cast of 15 students, the production will be presented for the public and students on both nights. Curtain time Is 8:15 p. m. In the C S U auditorium. Playing Play-ing time will be approximately two hours. Letters Inviting Relief Society literary leaders to attend have gone out. since the auxiliary units have taken up the study of Shakespeare. The scenes selected for presentation pre-sentation are varied from the high comedy of "A Midsummer Nights Dream" to the tragedy of "Othello". The principal portion of the performance will be an adaptation of the important com-edy-history "King Henry IV". Authentic Costumes Colorful, authentic costumes are to be used for all characters. Scones will be acted In utilitarian utilitar-ian settings, with the employment employ-ment of space-staging techniques und special lighting effects. Richard M. Don Knight, Ron Mc-tntyre, Mc-tntyre, Bernett Baldwin, Cedar City; Steve Rozelle, Sprlngdale; Wendell Heaton, Steve Carpenter, Carpen-ter, Frances David, Kanab; Glen-na Glen-na Rife and Dolly Morrison, Mt. Carmel: Frank Hanchett, Richfield; Rich-field; Barbara Welton, Delta. English and drama students from throughout this area have been Invited to attend as guests of the college. Ward Relief Society So-ciety leaders from Beaver to St George Stake, have also been in. vlted. |
