Show Cedar City Radio - Television Interest Revived Through Recent Transactions Second Radio Station Indicated for Cedar John Rowberry, who with a number of associates, has been promoting television services for Cedar City for the past several months, and who has Indicated an interest in purchasing controlling con-trolling stock in radio station KSUB, now announces the possibility poss-ibility of establishing t second radio station here in the near future. Among Mr Rowberry's associates associ-ates In the radio field are men affiliated with radio station KNAK in Salt Lake City. This group had indicated that they would puichase KSL stock In KSUB, but the stock was sold to four local business men this week. The group now proposes installation of the second broadcasting broad-casting station. Information released this week indicates that an application for operation of a 5000-watt station will be filed with the Federal Communications Commission in the very near future, and that an option has been taken on six acres on land west of Cedar City on which to erect the station. An option has been taken on the required re-quired land on the Iron Springs, road, It is understood. The land Is in the same general area as the KSUB control station except that It Is a little closer to the city, it has been indicated. Mr. Rowberry also states that If such a station Is put Into operation op-eration It is the plan to provide television service In connection with the operation. The plan calls for either "boosting" or "translating" the three Salt Lake City television channels Into the area, Mr. Rowberry says. |
