Show BPWClubMeeting Held to Review Legislative Matters In the final gathering of the fiscal year the members of the Business and Professional Women's Wo-men's Club enjoyed a meeting Wednesday evening supervised by the Legislative and Program coordinating committee. Legislative chairman Gwen Beal discussed the bill dealing with labeling and pure food laws. Louise Corry gave a very thorough thor-ough account of the pending mortician laws, and Pauline Nelson Nel-son explained in detail the need of strong state and local laws governing narcotics. With the material presented by the three ladies the members were convinced con-vinced that every effort should j be made to support the passage i of these laws. Candace Ewlng gave a resume i of the year'i work of the club and all felt that It had been a very profitable year. She stated that every phase of the year's outline of work had been thoroughly thor-oughly handled by club members and that the club had enjoyed a 36.9 gain In membership. Outgoing president Ellen Bui-loch Bui-loch was presented with a pin and highly praised for a uc-cessful uc-cessful year as head of the organization. or-ganization. Mrs. Bulloch, Lillian Lunt, Freida Wlthrow, Lula Atkln and Gwen Beal will represent the club at the state convention at Logan, June 15, 16 and 17. |
