Show Jaycees Vote on Highway Route Proposals Tom Brown, president of the Cedar City Junior Chamber of Commerce, announced this week that A. L. Thompson, past president presi-dent and immediate past state vice president, has been selected as general chairman for the 1958 state convention to be staged in Cedar City. Although the convention is nearly a year away, plans and committees are being formulated. At a general membership meeting of the organization held Thursday evening, a preference list on the proposed highway route through Cedar City was adopted following a lengthy discussion, dis-cussion, the president indicated. The general membership went on record naming west of the city route (near the stockyards) as the number one route of the highway, followed in preference by the Fourth East Street route and third, the 1200 West Street route for the federal highway. President Brown Indicated that the preference was made on a request from the Chamber of Commerce. |
