Show Nathan Smith Family Convenes For Annual Reunion Land of the Rainbow Canyon, Can-yon, Cedar City, was the scene of the Nathan Smith family reunion re-union the week end of July 15th and 16th. W. T. Smith, prsldent of the organization, announces that a a successful and delightful reunion re-union was enjoyed by family members from surrounding western wes-tern states and Canada. Descendents paid homage to their progenitors, Nathan and Jane Sant Smith, who home-steaded home-steaded at Banida, Idaho in the early 1800's. The original one room log cabin, where eleven children were born and reared, has been preserved at this site. The scheduled events got underway un-derway Saturday morning with an early morning session at the St. George Temple, followed by a delicious banquet, program, business and genealogy meeting in the Hotel El Escalante. Tours to old Iron City and Iron Mines concluded the day's activities. Conducted tours to scenic points were on Sunday's agenda, after which a buffet luncheon was served on the patio at the Louis Webster home. Everyone Every-one present enjoyed the afternoon after-noon and evening hours in visiting visi-ting and reminscing. Catering for the banquet and buffet luncheon was under the direction of J. D. Dockstader. Local family members participated participa-ted on the various committees which contributed to the success of the occasion. |
