Show I Faculty Participates in Education Conference The faculty of rolleg of Southern Utah is participating In the 14th annual Higher Education Educa-tion conference In Logan this week. The four-day gathering this year, from Sept. 18 to 21, will serve as the state conference confer-ence on education beyond the high school, as requested by Utah's Governor. George D. Clyde. In addition to C S U, educators from Utah State University and Snow College at Ephralm are represented at the meetings. Opening event of the session was a general meeting for staff and faculty members Wednesday evening. The remainder of the conference will be spent In Intensive In-tensive workshop sessions and in separate discussion groups directed di-rected by deans of the various educational departments. One panel of leading citizens has been asked to discuss Utah'g needs for education beyond the high school in selected areas, namely agriculture. Industry, labor, la-bor, professions, liberal education educa-tion and research. "Speakers for special sessions of the conference Include Gov-ernor Gov-ernor George D. Clyde, Professor T. R. McConncll of the Univer-slty Univer-slty of California, Orval Hafen, president of the Utah Senate, and Jaren Jones, speaker of the Utah House. |
