Show Funeral Services Accorded Floyd Bingham, 36 Funeral services were held Monday morning, Sept. 16, at the Eighth Ward chapel in Cedar Ce-dar City for Floyd Bingham, 36, Bingham died in the Iron County Coun-ty Hospital Thursday afternoon, Sept. 12 following an operation. Graveside services were held at Vernal Monday evening at the Maeser Falrvlew cemetery where burial was made. Mr. Bingham was serving as sanitarian for Iron, Kane, Wash-ington Wash-ington and Beaver counties for the Utah State Department of Health. He has held this posl-tlon posl-tlon for the past three years. Speakers at the services included in-cluded Dan Jones, Don Carter and remarks by Bishop Giles Bolander, who conducted, rrayer at the mortuary was by Carl Jacobs. Ja-cobs. Invocation at the services was given by Max Willis and the benediction by Gail Duncan. Musical portion of the program Included a song by the Tradesmen, Trades-men, "Oh My Father," a vocal solo by Larry Jones, "Hills of Home," also u solo by Sheldon Prestwich. A women's trio, composed com-posed of Gladys Isom, Naida Gardner and Marilyn Perry sang "Sometime We'll Understand." Prior to moving to Cedar City Mr. Bingham served with the state health department In Ver-nal Ver-nal and previously he had worked work-ed as a sanitarian for the state of Illinois. A native of Vernal, he was educated In that city, attended the University of Utah and received re-ceived his degre from Vandcr-built Vandcr-built University in Nashville, Tenn. An active member of the Cedar City Lions Club he served this year as that organization's vice president. He has been an active worker for the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints. At the '.ime of his death he was serving in the superintendency of hte YMMIA of the Cedar City Fourth Ward. He filled a mission for the church in the Spanish-American Spanish-American mission and held positions po-sitions of ward clerk and Sunday Sun-day School superintendent In Vernal. Born In Vernal Oct. 12. 1920, a son of Lester and Martha May Robertson Bingham, he married La Nora at Normal, 111, April 1, 1945. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. She died in 1951. He married Barbara Ashby Dec. 28, 1951 in Roosevelt Surviving him are his widow, five children: Robert. Ruth, Ann, Ralph, Elton and Johnny, all of Cedar City; his parents, Vernal, one brother, Victor L., Vernal; two sisters, Afton Stewart, New York and Veda B. Carter, Logan. |
