Show Funeral Services Are Held for Evan Rollins Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon of last week for Evan Rollins, Parowan resident, who passed away on Sunday afternoon in Salt Lake City at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Wm, Bowen. The service were held in the Third Ward chapel with Bishop Charles H. Gurr conducting and Mrs. Itha Mortenson at the organ or-gan for prelude and postludc music. Speaker at the service was Milo S. Marsden of Salt Lake City and former resident of Parowan Par-owan who was Mr. Rollins' employer em-ployer when he operated sheep in this area many years ago. Bishop Gurr also spoke briefly at the opening of the services. Prayer at the home of a son and daughter-in-law of the deceased, de-ceased, where the body lay prior to the services, was offered by Spencer W. Lemmon'. The invocation invoca-tion was by Hyatt Bentloy, the benediction was by Clayton Tul-lis Tul-lis and the grave in the city cemetery was dedicated by Howard How-ard Joseph. A double mixed quartet sang the opening and closing songs, "In the Garden," and "Lead Me Gentley Home," respectively. The members of the quartet were Mrs. Ola Robinson, Mrs. Bertrude Mitchell, Mrs. Frankle Bontley, Mrs. Robert Rowley, Verl Taylor. Clair Rowley, Harold Mitchell and Reed Orton. Other musical number on the program was a vocal duet 'That Silver Haired Daddy of Mine," by Mrs. Vivian Marshall and Mrs. Sylvia Davis of Minersville. All songs were accompanied ac-companied on the piano by Mrs. Mary Lyman. |
