Show PARAGONAH NEWS MOTES I Mrs. Hilma Lamoreaux The Paragonah Ward Junior M-Men won their - basketball game with the Summit Ward Monday evening to win the right to represent Parowan Stake in the Division Playoff In Parowan Triday and Saturday Feb. 8th and 9th. The local boys have gone through their season of play without a loss. Summit started off fast and had a 13 to 3 lead before Para-gonah Para-gonah got their first field goal. The Gonah guys got rolling in the second half, however, and finished with a 41 to 32 score. They were sparked by Claude Jones' driving layups and Lynn Thornton's fine defense work. Gregory Topham made some fine fieldgoals and was good at the foul line. They were supported by Dwlght Stones, Jerrold Davenport Daven-port and Lynn Kay Topham. Jones scored 17 points, Gregory Topham, 12, Stones 5, Davenport 2 and Thornton 5. Lynn Kay Topham failed to score but was in the game only two short periods. peri-ods. Other members of the squad are Randy Lamoreaux, Lee Arlen Topham, Curt Boardman, Clinton Topham, Tom Jones and Ricky Williamson. Scoring for Summit were Kent Humpherys 2, Dick Farrow 12, Dennis Dalley 6, Daryl Davenport 4 and Mike Stapley, 8. t The Paragonah Ward Chapel was filled almost to capacity Sunday afternoon when a farewell fare-well testimonial was held for Elder Ardell Talbot, prior to his leaving for Hawaii. Almost all of the Orson Talbot family were present. Here from Salt Lake City for the week end wero Mr. and Mrs. Justin Fairbanks Fair-banks and their four children, Mr .and Mrs. Bob Talbot and their small son and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Talbot and baby. Neil Talbot Tal-bot came from Logan, bringing Miss Suzanne Short of Salt Lake City. The Brent Talbot family of Parowan joined the group. Other relatives who came from out of town were Mrs. Mary Goddard of Cedar City, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Gale, son Hal andl daughter, Annette and Mrs. Al-, theda Gale of Beaver. 1 Mr. and Mrs. David Smith and children of Salt Lake City and 1 Miss Julie Taylor of Tremonton, friends of Ardell, were here for the testimonial. A group of college students came from CSU. Mr. and Mrs.. Lewis Prothero spent Sunday in Cedar City where they enjoyed a family dinner din-ner gathering at the Kenneth Bonzo home. The occasion was in honor of the John Bonzo family fami-ly who had recently arrived In Cedar City. Mr. Bonzo has made his career with the United States Armed Forces and is leaving for Viet Nam this week. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Abbott returned re-turned to their home in Murray Tuesday of last week after being in Southern Utah for a short stay. Mr. and Mrs. William S. Board-man, Board-man, son Curt and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Boardman traveled to Salt Lake City Saturday to meet Elder Eugene Boardman who was returning home from his mission to England. Gene arrived by jet plane early Sunday and they came to Paragonah that day. On Monday, Mrs. Boardman arid Charles took Gene to Provo where he will enroll for classes at B. . U. Mr. and Mrs. Antone Robinson and their two small sons, Mrs. Mabel Robinson and daughters, Jayne and Audrey Brunner and the latter's baby Lisa, were here from Salt Lake City for the week end. They visited with Mr. and Mrs. T, A. Robinson, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Robb and with the Bob Miller family in Parowan. Orson Talbot and son Ardell spent Wednesday of last week in the St George Temple. Mr .and Mrs. Arthur Fretwell and son Lawrence 'were here from Cedar City Sunday to join the Welcome Home committee for their nephew, Eugene Board-man. Mrs. Myrtle Abbott spent Thursday of last week in Cedar City visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Don Rogers. Sam Lister and J. B. Jones were home from Provo for the week end with their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lister and the Blaine Jones family. Vergene Jones was here from Ogden. Bob Stelner of Lemon Grove, Calif., and Don Couch of Los Angeles have, been visiting with the Ivan Robb family. Milton Robinson and Charles Murie were here from Salt Lake City for the week end. They visited with, the Ivan Robbs. Mr. and Mrs. Alan Nielsen and small son of Salt Lake City were here for the week end. They visited with the Arthur Evans family fa-mily and in Parowan with Mr. and Mrs. Osmer K. Nielsen. Sunday Visitors at the Wilson Lund home Included Mr. and Mrs. Rex Maxwell and daughter, Patsy, Mrs. Lola Smith and the Heber Lund family all of Cedar City. Mrs. Merle Walker and Mrs. Ivy Skougaard of Cedar City spent Monday here with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. K. Doyle Robinson. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Edwards and family of Cedar City visited her on Sunday with their parents. pa-rents. Young Paul Edwards remained re-mained in town to spend a few days with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Robinson. I Mr. and Mrs. Harry Martin of ' Sierra Madre visited here recently recent-ly with Mrs. Melva Barton. Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Clark and young son Greg were here Sunday Sun-day to visit with the Earl Thornton Thorn-ton family.
