Show Funeral Services Held Wednesday For James V. Lawrence Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 30 for James Vaughn Lawrence, 52, who died at the home of his parents, in Cedar City Sunday, Jan. 27 of cancer. Services were held at the Cedar LDS Fifth Ward Chapel under the dirction of Bp. Ray M. Baum-gartner. Baum-gartner. Prayer at the mortuary prior to the services was by Parson U. Webster.' Invocation was by Alma Al-ma Lawrence and prelude and postlude music was rendered by Joan Martin. Speakers were William L. Jones and Otto Fife with remarks by Bp. Baumgartner. Special musical numbers included in-cluded a vocal solo, "I Walked Today Where Jesus Walked" by Christine Winterrose, accompanied accompan-ied by Bernella Jones; a vocal duet, "In the Garden," by Mamie Eck and Lois McConnell, accompanied accom-panied by Mrs. Martin; and a vocal solo, "Absent," by Herschel Neeley, accompanied by Shirley Cowan. Closing prayer was by James Heywood and the dedication of the grave at the Cedar City cemetery ce-metery was by Frank Holmes Lawrence was born in Cedar City, Jan. 12, 1911, a son of Thomas Tho-mas and Rosa Wagner Lawrence. He married Edith Larson, and they were later divorced. Survivors included his parents; three sons, Aaron J., and Ronald James, Hurricane and Gary L. American Fork. Four daughters, Mrs. Rodney (Carol) Wright, Lauree, Rolayne and Evelyn, all of Hurricane . Also surviving are four grandchildren and the following fol-lowing brothers and sisters: D. Earl, Ernest. Thomas, Mrs. Arvil (Pearl) Stapley, Mrs. Harry (Bar- bara Bauer, and Mrs. Edward (Beth) Fitzinger, all of Cedar City; David and Mrs. Larkln (Ruth) Gifford, Las Vegas, Nev., ' and Fred, Lander, Wyo. |
