Show Special Engagement Luncheon Held To Announce Nuptials The engagement of Miss Mary Elizabeth Southwick of Salt Lake City to Karl Clark Mitchell of Parowan was told at an artistically artis-tically detailed announcement luncheon Saturday afternoon at the Ambassador Clug in the cap. ital city. I At the event, friends and relatives rela-tives learned of the engagement and approaching marriage of Miss Southwick and Mr. Mitch-, ell. Miss Sou'hwick is a daugn-1 ter of Mr. and Mrs. Merlin South-wich. South-wich. Salt Lake City. Her fiance is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Karl O. Mitchell, Parowan. Centering the luncheon table was an attractive arrangement of red and white carnations, encircling en-circling two red satin hearts joined together with an arrow. Red and white satin streamers extended from the grouping to placecards in the form of two small hearts. One bore the in- Rcription "Mary and Clark March 26" and the o'her, "Two Hearts Beat As One." The popular couple will he wet' in rites to take place In the Salt Lake Temple, March 26. Fol-lowing Fol-lowing which the parents of the bridegroom will honor them at a wedding breakfast. That evening Mr. and Mrs Southwick. the bride's parents will be hosts at a reception fot the couple at the Bonneville Stake Center. The bride-elect, a student at the University of Utah, will complete com-plete her studies there. She It affilia'ed fith Chi Omega, Spurs. Cwean and won the Mortar Hoard scholarship in 1957-57. She has been a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta. She has also se.-v. ed as U. of U campus correspondent correspond-ent for the Deseret News. Mr. Mitchell Is a senior a' Brlgham Young University. I'' has fulfilled an LDS mission in Western Canada and has served a tour of duty with the V. S. Army. Following the wedding the young couple will mane a home In Provo. |
