Show ICA Conference Shaken Up In Week End Play STANDINGS Boise 6 2 .760 Ricks 5 2 .714 Weber 5 2 .714 CSU 4 2 .607 Dixie 3 4 .429 Carbon 2 7 .222 Snow 1 7 .125 The lead in 'he Intermountain Collegiate Athletic Conference changed hands twice over the week end with the Boise Broncos losing the lead and then regain-ing regain-ing P, but only by a one-half game margin. The Broncos of Idaho came into southern Utah with a perfect per-fect record of six wins and no losses and left with two defeats on their slate and a slim, eve: so slim lead in the ICAC race. First defeat of the conference season was handed to them by the College of Southern Utah Broncos who defea'ed the northern north-ern leaders by the Impressive score of 81 to 56. That game was played Thursday evening. Friday evening Boise was dropped from the lead when they lost their second sec-ond game to Dixie by a score of 61 to 59. This week end the Boise crew will have an opportunity to lick their wounds with a week's rest In the conference while the remaining re-maining six teams continue to play. Ricks College upset the CSU applecart on Friday evening with a 66 to 64 win over the Broncos with a basket in the final two seconds of play. However, Ricks, who temporarily took the lead In the conference, suffered a 75 to 71 loss at Dixie to give the lead back to the Broncos of Idaho. In the meantime Weber easily handled Carbon at Price posting a 56 to 46 win. Snow and Carbon come to the extreme southern end this week end in games Friday and Saturday Satur-day with CSU and Dixie. Friday night's slate puts Carbon at CSU and Snow at Dixie. Saturday the teams reverse and Snow comes to CSU and Carbon moves on to Dixie. CSU and Dixie should each post two wins here. Snow and Carbon are in the sixth and seventh sev-enth spots in the conference. On a conference basis two important im-portant games will be played by Weber and Ricks. Weber will be at Rexburg Friday evening and the two squads will move to Og-den Og-den Sa'urday to complete the series between the two clubs. |
