Show Accumulative Bids Reach Total of $871,016.00 For New South Elementary Building in Cedar City Four contracts were awared Monday by the Board of Education of the Iron County School District in connection connec-tion with the building of a new elementary school building build-ing in the southwest area of Cedar City. The four contracts, con-tracts, for general construction, heating and plumbing, electrical, and food service equipment, were for a total of $S71,01G.(X) It is expected that all constructs will be signed this week and actual construction should get under way within a week to 10 days after contract?;' ;ire signed, or before the end of February. Bids for the new school to ho known as the t-'ou'h Elementary, Ele-mentary, and which it is expected will be ready for use at the open-ing open-ing -of school in 19.")9, were opened open-ed Friday, and approved at the board meeting Monday. General Contractors Low bidder on general construction con-struction was the Weyher Construction Con-struction Company of Salt Lake City, contractors who built the new Cedar City library. The bid was for St;69.000.00. Next lowest bidder was Chytraus Bros. Co. for $703,090.00. The highest bid, $818,. 000.00 was by Olsen Construction Company. Other bidders on general construction con-struction were Finn B. Paulson, $719,000.00; Aler-Child Construe-fion Construe-fion Co., $735,609.00; Witt Construction Con-struction Co., $748,850.00; Talboe Construction Co., $707,200.00. and Paulsen Construction Co., $779,-800.00. $779,-800.00. Local Plumbers Jones and Stuckl, Cedar City contrae'ors, were low bidders on the plumbing and heating for the new school, with a bid of $143,380.00, and have been award, ed the contract. Next low bidder. Just $20.00 higher at $113,400, was Three-Way Tlumblng Co. The highest bidder was Ace Plumbing Co. at $163,000. Other bidders were Brown Plumbing, $148,612.00; P. L. Larson, $150,-088.00; $150,-088.00; Atkn Plumbing and Heat. Ing Co.. Cedar City, $159,707.00, and HIgham-Hilton Plumbing and Heating Co., $159,979.00. For electrical work Blaine Grey Flec'ric, Salt Lake City, was low bidder with $45,113.00; with six others submitting bids as follows: fol-lows: Wasatch Electric Co. $15.-900.00; $15.-900.00; Jensen Electric, $-16,695; Squires and Wilkinson, $47S5.-69; $47S5.-69; V. J. Clove, $17,564.00; Sor-enson Sor-enson Electric, $49,225.00, and Hamilton Brothers Electric, $59,-363.00. $59,-363.00. Only two bids were submitted I for food service equipment for the new school, W. H. Bintz Co., offering the low bid of $13,523. and receiving the contract. Restaurant Res-taurant and Store Equipment Co. bid $11,291.57. L.
