Show Chairman Reports Proper Support Assures 3-ChannelTV "We can have good television from the three Salt Lake chan nels if we can get the proper financial fi-nancial support," said Haze Hunter, Hun-ter, chairman of the Iron County Coun-ty Television Committeee, yesterday. yes-terday. He pointed out that for twi days early in the week an excel-lent excel-lent signal from Channel Five was received in the county, amt stated that if funds were available avail-able this type of signal could h? received fron all thr Sap Lake channels on a continuous basis. "If the county would provide us with funds, not necessarily a large amount, we could provide residents of the county with good television almost immediately," he said. Signal Interference Mr. Hun'er explained that during dur-ing the time the channel five signal was being received so clearly, the Beaver county signal was not In use. However, as soon as the Beaver system was turned back on it created such a strong "ghost" in the signal that It practically ruined local reception. This, Mr. Hunter pointed out, re-suited re-suited in spite of the faa that the Iron Coun'y booster has ben moved to a new location. One of the Beaver County antennas Is pointed toward the Iron County antenna in order to reach the Greenville area, and this apparently appar-ently ghosts the local signal. Need Proper Equipment This can be eliminated easily if the proper equipment is Installed, Instal-led, the committee chairman states. However, the committee feels that it will be practically Impossible to meet these coats on contributions alone, and appeals to city, county and school district dis-trict officials for support in providing pro-viding the service. The committee members are convinced that good television reception will be available as soon 'as funds can be provided lor additional equipment. Until then, food recep'ion apparently cannot be assured. |
