Show Farewell Testimonial ForP.H.Gurrs Set for Saturday A farewell testimonial and social so-cial will be held on Saturday evening. Aug. 13 for Mr. and Mrs. P. H. Gurr, who will leave for the mission home in Salt Lake City to report Wednesday, Aug. 19. Following their 10-day stay in the mission home Mr. and Mrs. Gurr will leave for the Hawaiian Islands to fill two-year missions for the L D S church. The prominent Parowan couple cou-ple received a call several weeks ago for the mission and have been making preparations to answer an-swer the call since then. They, with their daughter, Mrs. Anna Rawson, were speakers in the Parowan Third ward sacrament meeting Sunday, with music for the meeting being provided by three of their grandchildren of Cedar City. Mrs. Gurr will be honored by the Third ward Relief Society at its meeting on Tuesday and "will also be feted by the Elizabeth and Paulina camps of the D. U. P. on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. o'-clock. She has served as an officer offi-cer in both Relief Society and D. U. P. organizations in Parowan. The Farewell testimonial is in charge of Mr. and Mrs. Gurr's son-in-law, Jess W. Guymon and will be held Saturday evening at 7:30 in the Third ward chapel with a very good program arranged ar-ranged for the occasion. |
