Show Many People in Dark Concerning Social Security Law "Major changes in the Social Security Act during recent years have not only provided more security for more people, but have also made it much easier to obtain this protection." This statement was made today by Kesler T. Powell, manager of the Provo office of the Social Security Secur-ity administration. "Altrough millions of workers have been paying for this protection pro-tection for years," Mr. Powell continued, "a surprising number are still totally uninformed as to what this program means to them. This probably applies more to those people who have been under the program longest. They have taken the social security se-curity deductions from their checks for granted. The newly covered groups seem more aware of their status since they have only recently begun making contributions." con-tributions." Mr. Powell urges that workers get up-to-date information about what the social security program pro-gram means to them and their families. They should know what the program pnnides to a man's family in the event of his death. They .should know something about what they can expect as payments upon retiring after age 65."
