Show Chas. Ashman Home FromLDS New Zealand Mission Charles Ashman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert E. Ashman of Cedar City, returned recently from an L D S mission to New-Zealand. New-Zealand. Returning from his mission mis-sion Mr. Ashman reported at both the Third and Fourth wards of the Cedar stake last Sunday afternoon. Sent out from the Cedar Third ward, he found the wards had been divided while he was gone and his residence is now in the Fourth ward. Mr. Ashman spent approximately approxi-mately 30 months in New Zealand, Zea-land, -dividing his time between the .south and north islands of the country. In reporting his mission mis-sion Mr. Ashman stated that one of the most thrilling experiences to him was the organization of a branch of the church on the northern island. Starting with about three families fam-ilies the branch had reached a membership of between 35 and 40 upon his departure from New Zealand. Next to the United States, Mr. Ashman reported, he would rather live in New Zealand. Zea-land. The climate of the southern Island is comparable to Cedar City with the northern island flourishing in a semi-tropical condition. Mr. Ashman expects to remain in Cedar City for the time being. He hopes to enter school but states that he expects to enter the army under the selective service ser-vice system in the very near future. |
