Show Committee Members For County Fair Departments Named Committee members in charge of several more departments of the Iron County Fair, which is ti be held in Parowan on Fri day and Saturday, Sept. 4 and 5, wert announced during the week. They are as follows: Handwork department, with Mrs. Ella Felstead as chairman and the following as assistants: Mrs. Hulda M. Hulet. Mrs. Madge Stevens, and Mrs. Enid Mitchell. Quilts, Bedspreads and Rug department. de-partment. Mrs. Maytha Board-man Board-man chairman, Mrs. Roena Benson, Ben-son, Mrs. Lola Bastian and Mrs. Sara Stones, assistants. A Junior division to exhibit articles made by girls from 12 to 18 year's of age, will be supervised super-vised by Mrs. lone Orton, with Mrs. Virginia Lister and Mrs. Gwen Jones as assistants. Mrs. Cora Ward is chairman of the Primary Division, for exhibition exhibi-tion of articles made by girls 4 to 12 years of age. Mrs. Maxine Bentley will assist Mrs. Ward in this department. All above exhibits will be j housed in the newly enlarged Farowan high school gymnasium according to plans of the committees com-mittees in charge. In the Livestock department, Joe Benson has charge of the Dairy division, with Holstein, Jersey and Gurnsey breeds to be shown. Cash prkes in the various vari-ous age groups are $7 for first place, S5 for second and S3 for third. This holds true in the breeding beef cattle division, of which Hal Mitchell is chairman. Hereford and Shorthorn breeds i are to be shown. ' In the breeding sheep division the following breeds will be rec-1 ognized: Rambouillet, Hampshire. Hamp-shire. Suffolk, Panama and Columbia. Co-lumbia. Prizes are So for first place, $4 for second and $2 for third in all ages. The following breeds of swine will be entered: Chester White, Duroc Joey and Spotted Poland Pol-and China, accoidmg to Kendall Gurr, chairman, with prizes as follows: V for first, $4 for second sec-ond and $2 for third. Livestock exhibits will be displayed dis-played at the Rambouillet show barn. |
