Show City Welcome Wagon Hostess Meets New German Couple "The Welcome Wagon" of Cedar Ce-dar City, with Mrs. D. Ned Sargent Sar-gent acting as hostess, called on new residents of Cedar last week. They were Mr. and Mrs. Bern-hard Bern-hard Willkomm, who arrived in the United States from Germany in June. Mr. and Mrs. Willkomm, who are unable to speak the English Eng-lish language, were greeted by Mrs. Sargent by an interpreter, Mrs. Theran Heap, a German war bride, living in Cedar City. "The Welcome Wagin" is designed de-signed to introduce new residents resi-dents to the city and to present gifts from the various establishments establish-ments as a means of introduc-.tion introduc-.tion and welcome to Cedar City. Mr. and Mrs. Willkomm, arrived ar-rived in the United States June 8 and were met at New York by A. Burt Horsley who escarted them to Cedar City by car. They are making their home here now and Mr. Willkomm has employment employ-ment with the Atkin Plumbing and Heating company. Mrs. Heap, interpreter for the "Welcome Wagon" presentation By Mrs. Sargent has been in the United States since 1946. She has two children, both girls, two and four years old. Both Mr. and Mrs. (Militta) Willkomm, expressed a great appreciation ap-preciation to Mrs. Sargent for her work and to the city for its interest in-terest in them. They stated that they had been treated wonderful wonder-ful since their arrival and were very much pleased with life in the United States and Cedar City especially. |
