Show Utah State Symphony To Be Feature of Music Arts Series The appearance of the Utah State Symphony orchestra in Cedar City early in December will be one of the outstanding features fea-tures of the 1952-53 Music Arts association concert series, according ac-cording to Mrs. J. S. Prestwich, association chairman. The Utah Symphony has featured fea-tured the Music Arts series here for the past two years, and arrangements ar-rangements have been completed complet-ed for another appearance on Dec. 5, Mrs. Prestwich states. The symphony concert will again be held in the Branch Agricultural college fieldhouse in order to accommodate the large crowd expected ex-pected to attend. Other concerts of the series will be held in the public school auditorium. One other concert has already been contracted for, with the ManesGimpel-Sylvia trio scheduled sched-uled to appear here early in March. The Manse-Gimpel-Syl-via trio, a string trio of violin, cello, and piano, is considered one of the finest on the concert stage at the present time. Its appearance ap-pearance here will be in keeping with the Music Arts association policy of featuring the very best in concert groups available for the annual local series. The association leaders are considering a number of other concerts for the 1952-53 season, but have not yet arranged dates for the schedule other than the symphony and trio. |
