Show RICHLAND NEWS (Formerly Beryl) The people of the Escalante Valley feel that their annual tour was a great success this year. We were pleased at such a great turn out, and hope that those who went on the tour saw a little of the hard work and success suc-cess for such a new valley. To those who so generously gave of their time and donations, the council would like to thank. First Mr. Stephen Brower for his time and effort; to the Ladies club for the large quantity of food. Incidentally everyone from the valley went back to the Escalante Es-calante Valley school for dinner, as there was such an abundance of food and all had plenty to eat. We wish to thank the Bank of Southern Utah and all who donated do-nated toward our Richland Recreation Rec-reation Park fund. We have spent many hours in making money to be able to have a recreation rec-reation building for our community. commu-nity. We hope that next year you will all Join the Escalante Valley Val-ley Tour and see the large improvement im-provement we hope there will be. Those of us who have lived there for the last five years have been able to see a valley grow before our eyes. As Brigham Young said: "Someday the Escalante Escal-ante Valley will be the breadbasket bread-basket of Utah." The Escalante Valley 4-H Livestock Live-stock show was held on July 31 in conjunction with the Elscal-ante Elscal-ante Valley tour, at the home of Charles Bosshardt. Darrell Matthews Mat-thews of B A C served as judge of the show. a Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Pederson had as week-long guests, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Deuel and daughters Joan and Carol from Bakersfield, Calif. While here the Pedersons and Deuels spent a day at Cedar Breaks. Mrs. Deuel is Mrs. Federson's sister. |
