Show Beautification Of City Approaches Planned By Lions Plans for beautification of the North and South approaches to Cedar Ce-dar City, a project undertaken by the Lions Club last year and to be continued this year, were discussed and approved at the meeting of the club Monday. The first step in the beautification beautifica-tion program will be to clean and plant to grass all areas between the sidewalks and curb from the bridge north of town to Second South street. The support of property owners own-ers will be asked, and the city street department has agreed to cooperate on maintenance after the planting is done. M. C. Roberts, committee chairman, chair-man, and member of the City Council, Coun-cil, reported that the city has a-greed a-greed to flush the streets from Second Sec-ond South to the bridge, once each week during the summer months, and to flush and clean the street between Center and First North every ev-ery other day throughout the summer sum-mer season. The Club will also contact all owners of property on Main street and of property along the highway for a mile North and South of the city, asking that they remove or repair unsightly fences, tumbled down barns or other buildings. Owners of advertising signs will also al-so be asked to bring the signs up to date and first class condition or remove them. |
