Show NEM MACHINES FOR RECORD PLANT ""3 In order to keep up with the progress of Cedar City and to give the community the newspaper and commercial printing service it can support, considerable new and modern machinery machin-ery is to be added to the Iron County Record plant in the near future. The machines have been on order for over a year now and delivery should be made in a short time, in spite of the fact that the machinery shortage is not yet over. The most important addition will be a new Intertype .(pictured .(pic-tured above) that will speed up production in the plant, and improve the appearance and readability of the Record. Complete Com-plete new type will be placed in use when the new machine is installed, with new type faces for the main body of the paper, for the headings and advertisements. Second in importance will be a new automatic Kluge press to speed up production and improve the quality of commercial commer-cial printing done at the plant. Other items are on order that should be delivered soon, and will add greatly to the efficiency of the plant. These include in-clude a new perforating machine, new type cabinets and new display type. We also plan to add a number of other pieces of equipment as soon as they become available, that will give Cedar City one of the best equipped printing plants to be found in any community of comparable size. |
