Show Car Kills Thirty-one Sheep on Highway 91 Tlity-one sheep belonging to Nelpher Graff of Kanarra were killed on the highway near the town Monday afternoon, when an automobile crashed into a herd of sheep being driven across the highway. Otto Fife, Cedar City Chief of Police, investigated the accident since no patrolman or county sheriff's officers were in the vicinity, vi-cinity, and reported that the driver driv-er of the car, Joseph Costa-magna Costa-magna of Los Angeles, failed to see the sheep In time to avoid the crash. Mr. Costamagna reported having hav-ing noticed considerable dust on the highway, but stated that he thought it was being blown across the highway from an adjoining ad-joining field. Although the car was stopped within 63 feet the thirty-one sheep were killed and the car badly damaged before it came to a stop. The sheep were being taken across the highway at a regularly regular-ly marked slock crossing, Chief Fife reported. |
