Show SPORTSMEN: Unless there are heavy rains during hunting season, the fire hazard on the range will be critical. To avoid burning and destroying ranges on which game Is dependent it Is necessary that everyone be unusually cautious with camp fires, cigarettes, and matches. In all the writing and history of big game, there is no recognized instance where a deer herd has been destroyed by bullets alone. However, cases can be cited of herds dying off because their range forage had been destroyed. Your cooperation in the past is very much appreciated and we ask your continued contin-ued carefulness and extra precaution this year. On your alertness in this respect may depend the future of some game herd. District Grazier, Bureau of Land Management, Colorado-Utah Region. |
